Author, Susan Greenwald, MA Ed. has degrees in special education from the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. She is an educator with more than two decades of success teaching math facts and mathematics skills, and has written three math books directed at teaching mastery of the math facts.

Susan gives presentations and workshops on Children CAN Master the Math Facts because she believes that after demonstrating understanding of computation, every student should be taught a way to memorize the math facts; this will allow them to work on new math skills without having to count on fingers, use number lines, or charts to get answers.
Five Times Five Is Not Ten: Make Multiplication Easy, and Two Plus Two is Not Five: Easy Methods to Learn Addition and Subtraction, published by Longevity Publishing, are Susan's latest books. Two Plus Two Is Not Five was the First Place winner in the Workbook category of the 2006 Evvy Book Awards. Teacher Created Resources published her first book, How to Teach Math Facts, in 1999.
Greenwald taught special education in both private and public schools including the Cherry Creek School District in Colorado and the Paradise Valley School District in Arizona. Through her private practice, she has worked with elementary and middle school students of all levels and abilities. The tricks, strategies, and worksheets in her books initially developed from a need to help her own students understand and memorize the math facts.
Susan presented at the 2006 Conference for Advancement of Mathematics Teaching in Houston, TX; the 2007 Annual Conference for the Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics; the 2007 Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics in Denver, CO; and the 2006 and 2007 California Mathematics Conferences in Pacific Grove, CA.
The author resides in Colorado with her husband where she continues to develop quality resources to help children succeed in school. She has three grown children who each mastered the math facts at a very early age!
